Woodbridge Flute Choir: Concerto Scholarship Concert

The Woodbridge Flute Choir is a professionally directed ensemble of adult flute enthusiasts that creates a unique orchestral sound with a variety of flutes. Its mission is to educate listeners on the styles, instrumentation, and historical backgrounds of the works being performed.  Since its inception in 1996, the Woodbridge Flute Choir has performed at regular concert series, charitable and gala events, Flute Society of Washington events, flute choir festivals, the National Flute Association convention, the Kennedy Center, and the White House.  Guest artist, Dr. Chris Potter, world renowned bass and alto flutist will be returning as a featured performer.  Dr. Potter has performed in London, Paris, Mexico City, Toronto, New Orleans, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, Washington D.C., Phoenix, Dallas, Boston, and Atlanta. She is an internationally recognized alto and bass flute virtuoso and has performed at many conventions of the National Flute Association (NFA) as well as British Flute Society conventions. Her CD Flute Menagerie features solo works for alto and bass. She has commissioned and premiered many works for alto and bass, including Stone Suite by Sonny Burnette, Baikal Journey by Catherine McMichael, Obstinato and Scareso by Mike Mower, Two for Two by Katherine Hoover and Ani Ma'Amin by Paul Schoenfeld.  Dr. Potter will also be leading a master class on Saturday, March 23.  Further information regarding the master class can be found at  woodbridgeflutechoir.org  The winner of the fifth annual high school scholarship competition will also perform a solo concerto with choir accompaniment.
