Aquila Theatre: Cyrano de Bergerac

  • November 17, 2012 at 8:00 pm

Merchant Hall

This award-winning British-American acting troupe brings one of the most romantic adventures in the literary canon to the stage. In Edmond Rostand’s hilarious and heartwarming tale, Cyrano de Bergerac is a courageous swordsman, a masterful wordsmith and an incredible romantic who seems to have everything — including an enormous nose that hinders him from pursuing the beautiful Roxanne. Cyrano lives vicariously through the attractive, but dull, Christian, who courts this stunning beauty with the help of Cyrano’s poetry. A classic 19th century French play comes to life in a delightful new production by this extraordinary theater company.  “The classics made relevant with superb acting and clever staging.” (New Yorker)
